road trip

just came back from a spontaneous and fun road trip with the girls. since it was just for the weekend, we only ventured out as far as Delaware. we stayed at the nice and cozy inn at millrace pond where we had a lovely dinner at night and attempted to play tennis in the morning. perfect place for such an amateur attempt as the court is in the middle of the woods and noone was watching ;). then we headed over to delaware water gap to do some river rafting. it was my first time on a raft and a lot of fun. paddling was definitely not easy, and many times we found ourselves going in a circle which made for a lot of laughs. the water was a perfect temperature and we completed our 7 mile adventure in 3 hours. we did not have a plan for that night and were exhausted so we crashed at the first motel we found on our way back. in the morning, we headed towards high point park where we did some hiking. i was actually afraid of the bears who are common in that area so i stayed back and ended up chatting to a local apiarist who proudly showed me photos of his bee hives and complained about the bears who destroy them. now back to the rainy city...
